Modules
Reference modules consist of a set of eight reference handbooks that offer:
- An introductory chapter on science/engineering types of writing such as scientific articles, research papers, proposals and technical reports, reviews/ assessment of other authors' pieces of writing, promotional materials and leaflets (product descriptions), and patent writing.
- Five chapters on composition of a piece of writing, style, language functions, grammar, and words with short explanatory notes and
- Authentic examples of texts from physical/materials engineering, electrical engineering, construction engineering, process engineering, and medical engineering, chemistry, pharmacy, informatics
- A glossary of terms frequently used in professional writing with their national equivalents (Czech, Icelandic, Italian, and Slovene)
- A link to exercises practising the referential information
Instructional modules offer a set of exercises that:
- Are interactive with the reference handbooks
- Provide you with engineering/informatics or chemistry/pharmacy terminology
- Are split into core and optional exercises highlighting nationally - specific writing problems for Czech, Icelandic Italian, and Slovene nationals (see flags)
- Are provided with keys enabling a quick self - assessment
Methodological module provides guidelines on how to extend/modify the material offered to the needs of other professionals or nationals.
